FRIENDS OF THE WSSO
Join us . . . Membership in the Friends is open to anyone interested in supporting the wonderful West Shore Symphony Orchestra located on the coast of West Michigan. Opportunities are abundant, and one can give as little or as much time as is available. For more information call the Symphony office at (231) 726-3231 or contact us.
Friends of the West Shore Symphony, the volunteer support organization for the WSSO, was formally organized in the fall of 1980. Friends activities over the years have included black-tie fundraisers, docent work in schools, social and educational programs with guest artists and our musicians, and lobby decorations and ambience in the historic Frauenthal Theater.
Today the Friends flourish as originally intended, raising money and providing volunteers to support the WSSO. Annual events include the Spring Style Show and the Secret Garden Tour of some of West Michigan's finest private gardens.
Each concert finds the Symphony Shop staffed by volunteers selling merchandise with a musical motif. The second Friends of the Symphony cookbook, More Enchanted Eating, is available for purchase at all concerts, several local venues, or from the Symphony office by calling (231) 726-3231. Other merchandise includes Symphony logo shirts and tote bags, an exclusive line of note cards, and a variety of musical themed scarves, ties, and gift items.
